Henri Matusse is a French artist who’s work particularly intrigues me. The varying styles of a lot of his different works over the years, especially for an artist who started his art later in life. Matisse is best known for his work with Fauvism, as well as decorative art. Something about Matisse I found interesting was his avoiding of commisions and portraits, but rather when he wanted to do poeople, he used friends and family as insperation. I understand that sentiment. My favorite work by Matisse is Blue Nude 3. The way he shows a womans body with the blue shapes is remarkable.
